    Genesis

    In 1965, an autonomous body, namely, Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan was registered as society under societies registration Act. XXI of 1860, which took over the task of opening and managing the Kendriya Vidyalayas. The sangathan is wholly financed by Govt. of India.

    In November 1962 the Govt. of India approved the scheme to provide educational facilities to the children of transferable central government employees including Defence personnel. Consequently, Central school organisation was started as a unit of the Ministry of Education, then under Ministry of MHRD after again now in Ministry of Education, Govt. of India.

    The second shift of PM SHRI Kendriya Vidyalaya No.1(S-2) Chhindwara was established on  01/09/2004. Its buildings was inaugurated on 20/09/2008. Main objective of PM SHRI Kendriya Vidyalaya Chhindwara To provide education that prepares young minds to become creative, compassionate and innovative adults. To instill self-confidence in the child and to provide a sense of social and environmental responsibility. To achieve high standards of academic excellence.
